About Me
Hi, I’m Grace, the owner of this travel blog Graceful Trips!
Growing up in Beijing, China, I took my first flight to the United States in 2006 to study computer science. Before then, I never traveled further than Tianjin (a small city that is just outside Beijing). Traveling was always a luxury to me.
After working in big tech companies for 14 years and founding and selling my startup, I left my career as an engineer in 2022 and started to spend more time traveling.
Within 24 months, our family of four visited 15 countries (Japan, China, France, Mexico, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Portugal, Austria, and of course many places within our home country, the United States) across three continents! We traveled in every season—fall, winter, spring, and summer. Traveling began to change how I see the world, from culture and nature to religions and politics.
In this blog, I'm sharing all the insights and adventures I've gained along the way. My hope is that they can inspire others.
I also created an app for world travelers called LocalSpeaks, designed to equip you with the most authentic and easy-to-use common phrases you need to know and say in a foreign country. You can download it from the Apple App Store.
Enjoy!
Grace
P.S. I'm also a succullent lover. If you happen to love plants, visit my site about succulents - Plant Succulents.
